On December 13, 2019, Wargo French Singer obtained a jury verdict for its client MSouth Equity Partners against Alston & Bird after a two-week jury trial. The jury found that Alston committed malpractice by rendering negligent tax advice in 2011, and subsequently in 2013 and 2014 through its communications with MSouth regarding the error and an ongoing audit by the IRS.
